Wireless Optical Pen

Abstract

The goal of our project was to design and build a device that will monitor and transmit via Bluetooth the hand movements of a person writing. The device is constructed from a PIC , optical sensor, and Bluetooth transmitter. On the software side, we put together a PC program that will receive the data transmitted from the device via a Bluetooth module. The program uses this information to move the cursor and draw the users corresponding movements , and have ability to write in three different colors. This project would be great for teachers, artists, etc. to easily digitize notes and diagrams directly from the writing surface to their own personal computer where the necessary expensive equipment to record notes is not available or impractical as in Palestine.
