BUILDING STREETS NETWORK FOR THE CITY OF DURA WORKING UNDER GIS NETWORK ANALYST EXTENSION

Abstract

Dura city is one of the largest community in Hebron District, which is subject to fast development in its streets network. To date the city lacks an appropriate digital streets Network database.

This project covers various aspects of building an appropriate computerized streets network database for Dura city. The resultant database will work under ArcGIS 9 Network Analyst extension. The work covers all required editing for converting the streets to ARCGIS syntax. Field measurement was carried out and several visits to police department, hospitals, clinics, and schools have been conducted.

This project enables the users to determine the shortest and fastest path between different locations in Dura city. The project will benefit in the dispatch of emergency and will help in planning strategies within city of Dura such as school, and fir place locations. مدينة دورا هي إحدى المدن الفلسطينية والتي تقع جنوب الضفة الغربية وهي كغيرها من المدن الفلسطينية تفتقر إلى وجود شبكة طرق صالحة الاستخدام في نظام تحليل الشبكات في برنامج نظم المعلومات الجغرافية

وقد اشتمل هذا المشروع على إعداد وتحضير شبكة طرق محوسبة لهذه المدينة على نظام GIS , حيث تم تسمية الشوارع وعمل نماذج للتقاطعات الرئيسية وعمل تعديلات وقياس السرعات التشغيلية بالإضافة إلى عمل تحديث لشبكة الطرق .

وسوف يصبح بالامكان استخدام هذه الشبكة داخل نظام GIS في تحديد اقصر وأسرع مسار من حيث الزمن والمسافة بالإضافة إلى تحديد المواقع للمنشات المراد إقامتها مثل المدارس ومراكز الإسعاف الأولي والمطاعم ومحطات الوقود .
