Abstract:
We aim, as a team, to develop ourselves and join our scientific and practical experience
within this project, as information technology students to present an idea to help our
grandparents, and parents in particular, and to help the Palestinian community and other
communities. Especially the category that is least practicing technology and keeping up
with it, which is the elderly category, and facilitating patients’ companions to stay in
constant contact with their data easily. In general, this is part of our social responsibility
as community members and within the university's vision and strategy as a communityserving university
Our project is a mobile application where the elderly can track their medical treatment
by regulating the timing and intake of their medication. This is done by either entering
their medication manually or by taking a picture of the medication name and converting
it to text. The application will remind them of the medication time, in addition to
sending a notification when the available quantity is over.
It can also keep its daily records and keep track of measurements, such as sugar levels
or blood pressure. It also saves these records, which can be seen in a line chart.
Furthermore, it can remind them of medical appointments, examinations, therapy
session. These records can be kept as an online copy where the total medical history of
the patient can be seen.
As most elderly people experience memory loss or are unable to keep track of their
conditions, the app can add an additional user such as (a doctor, or companion), who
can monitor the patient's condition and view his medical record and personal data such
as (a list of the patient's diseases, the medications he takes, and the medical
examinations that were entered).
To ensure that no unauthorized person enters the system and adds medicines or controls
patients' doses, we have added a system administrator to manage users and supervise
doctors in terms of looking at the doctor's practice certificate, and accordingly the doctor
is accepted or rejected.
