dc.description.abstract |
This project aims at building a low-cost online monitoring system for security
in small offices or shops. To achieve this goal, USB-based cameras are used on a
system connected to the internet to permit the user to monitor her/his office or shop
from any where- and- any time she/he wants. The user- can administrate the systemlocally, remotely through the internet or using SMS. When there is an intruder, the
system makes an alarm and sends SMS to the user.
We have used image processing techniques that depend on histogram comparison to
detect the- changes in- the- image- and-decide whether-level of change represent a threat
or not.
The results of the work show that the system can achieve full monitoring of the place
locally, remotely through the internet or of by SMS. Also, the cost of the system is
being very low compared-to the-many existing security systems |
