Abstract:
As computer networks become larger and larger routers are increasingly become more important in the network traffic, larger network mean larger numbers of users which mean larger number of routing requests which mean a heavy load on the router .
Vast amount of requests can convert the router into a bottleneck of the network. A way to overcome this problem is by employing a more potential router with more ports and more processing power, this solution can result expensive and will reach the limit again as the network size increases.
A more efficient and economic way to overcome the bottleneck is by using a parallel machine to function as a router. Such parallel machine is a cluster of PCs which is economic to build and scalable, the scalability of clusters of PCs is an important issue because the routing problem resides in the continuous increase of network nodes ,
So this problem can simply treated by increasing the number of PCs in the cluster ( size of parallel machine) to increase the performance of networks.
