A personal computer based general purpose control system using general remote control

Abstract

The idea behind this project is using remote control works with infrared light, so it sent infrared light to receiver circuit connected with computer through serial port. The user will be able to control PC remotely such as displaying start menu, open and close programs …etc. On the other hand user able to control with application that connected with computer through parallel port such as home automation application. We use VB.net to build the program that reads the digital signal ( that’s process by irc) from serial port and process it to perform the related action , if the action is SW action the program call windows ( dll) file from system 32 to perform this action , if the action is HW action the program sent signal to the related pin in the parallel port, and the interface circuit amplify and process the signal to achieve the application result, and there is a heat sensor to stay a constant temperature level, so when the temperature increase the program terminate all hardware application.
