Abstract:
Youth projects are considered as one of the most important development projects in the
country, as they aim to guide the youth toward their wills and wishes, also to enhance the
youth’s cultivate scientific knowledge and practical abilities, which drew the attention of
many countries toward the importance of this role of the youth organizations of sports and
entertainment in their societies.
Due to the need of the Palestinian society to the presence of this role, came this
research to present a theoretical study of the project of re-planning and design of a youth
sport and entertainment complex, in the city of Jericho to create a privilege site to fulfill the
needs of young people at the local and regional scale.
Our research methodology was based on gathering information from different sources
such as, books, articles, scientific papers and accredited websites, as well as case studies that
help understand and analyze the theoretical aspects of the project, interviews were made
with trainers and visitors to find out the extent of acceptance for such a project and the
expected benefits.
The site in Jericho achieves the required criteria of such projects; tourism destinations
as the top winter resort in Palestine, the world’s oldest city and the lowest spot on earth.
The existence of this youth recreational sport complex in Palestine, specifically in the
city of Jericho will contribute the promotion of interest in sports, and will also encourage the
internal and external tourism ,youth exchange visits between the provinces of one or
different countries.
