dc.description.abstract In this project the method of designing a Single Phase Permanent Magnet (SPPM) Synchronous motor is presented. This motor has special design of stator and rotor. It is commonly used in low-power application. The behavior of the motor as (starting, torque…) is described, and the starting behavior that depends on the initial position of the rotor is also described. The network method (equivalent circuit) is used to analyze the magnetic circuit, and to perform the analytical solution of this project. The achievement reaches is to build a Single Phase AC Synchronous PM Motor with specific dimensions. A frequency converter is used as the control device to obtain suitable type of control for this motor. There are growing applications for this motor, especially, in low-power like: automobile industry, central heating, and house appliances (washing machines, dishwasher) en_US
