dc.description.abstract Objective: The aim of this study is to define runs of homozygosity (ROH) in a cohort of Palestinian families. Methods: Defining ROH depends on using data of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) locations, and the lengths of shared homozygous segments. By using data from 197,701 SNP panel in 29 individuals from southern area of Palestine, we reflect the potential significance of defining ROH. Results: In all individuals, regions of ROH were identified; these regions were mapped and their genes content were revaluated. Conclusion: Genes located within ROH regions may have significant causes of deleterious variants that could be inherited in concordance with homozygosity runs. en_US
